Jeremiah Hunt is a dynamic bassist, composer, producer, and bandleader based in Chicago. His versatile career spans jazz, funk, and soul, with performances at iconic venues like The Green Mill, Andy’s Jazz Club, and Jazz Showcase, as well as underground staples such as The Whistler and The California Clipper.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Jeremiah began on trumpet before finding his voice on bass in ninth grade. He studied at Florida A&M University (FAMU) and was selected for the 2009 Disneyland All-American College Band—an early milestone in what would become a global performance career.
He has shared the stage and studio with Victor Goines, Marquis Hill, Bobby Broom, Gordon Goodwin, Dee Alexander, and The Main Squeeze, with whom he recorded Mind Your Head, produced by Randy Jackson. He also appeared on Cosmic Transitions with Isaiah Collier, which earned a 5-star review in Downbeat Magazine (2021), and opened for funk legends The Ohio Players the following year.
As founder of K.I.M. (Keeping It Moving), Jeremiah curates immersive musical experiences rooted in innovation and emotional storytelling. At Mixolydian, he serves as Programs Director, shaping a performance calendar where jazz is honored, reimagined, and shared with audiences both live and online.
